Research Associate - Full-Time

This position is at the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), a multi-disciplinary center for research to advance the science of learning by bringing together leading researchers in the cognitive, social, and educational sciences.

LRDC is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Research Associate. This position is designed for an individual to conduct research in the learning sciences, specifically focusing on math learning in early childhood. The incumbent will support ongoing research efforts examining the role of home and early childcare environments for children’s math learning, evaluate interventions targeting early math skills, and lead new research efforts related to these topics. The incumbent will be able to write grants to support independent research projects. This position is initially for 1 year but can be renewed depending on availability of funding.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Psychology or related fields, at least 3 years of relevant research experience post-PhD
• Familiarity with literature on early childhood cognitive development, especially math cognition
• Established track record of publishing research in peer-reviewed journals
• Excellent quantitative skills including longitudinal data analysis
• Excellent communication skills
• Established a track record of mentoring and supervising staff
• Experience working with research partners outside the university (families, teachers, etc.)
