Job Summary
Coordinate activities for funded studies focused on semantic memory within the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory of Memory and Language. The primary activities include recruiting and scheduling participants, maintaining the participant database, conducting data collection, monitoring data for accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of the study protocols. May supervise undergraduate student volunteers and/or other staff.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree; three years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
College background or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related discipline. (relevant course work may count towards experience).

One to two years of directly-related work or lab experience. High-level proficiency in abilities in laboratory techniques required. Expertise with applicable computer technologies, including specific software applications, is required. Appropriate communications skills specific to the research population are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lab Management
  • Train student interns and other research support staff on protocol procedures and techniques
  • Manage student interns including schedules, daily tasks, on-boarding and training
  • Assist with creation of study materials: Master study binders, database dictionaries, and operations manuals
  • Maintenance of lab, monitor equipment operation, and supply needs
  • Oversee IT protocols for trouble shooting and requesting IT help


Study Management
  • Assist with development of standard operating procedures for studies
  • Identify areas needing new solutions proactively; offer unique proposals and implement them in a timely manner
  • Assist with evaluating individual study methods for proper coordination of staff, space and procedures to ensure compliance with the protocol
  • Support collaborations with patient advocacy groups and other patient organizations to recruit participants and other research initiatives
  • Maintain participant database and research records, and ensure integrity of data
  • Manage data sources including creation of REDCap data forms, entry procedures, and long-term maintenance of electronic data & source documents
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss enrollment, recruiting practices and individual goals of the studies.

Research
  • Recruit and schedule subjects/participants for lab visits
  • Maintain timely and responsive communication with patients and research team
  • Perform position-appropriate diagnostic neuropsychological evaluations
  • Perform neurostimulation procedures involving High-definition Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (HD-tDCS), repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), and electroencephalogram (EEG)
  • Data acquisition and data management (entry, verification, and organization)
  • Support subject payment including creating protocols, tracking and reporting of payments
