Job overview:
The Research Assistant manages the recruitment, tracking and data collection for two grant funded projects - an intervention with parents and infants in Washington DC Early Head Start Center, and a longitudinal follow-up study of the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program in Tulsa, OK.
They track the projects’ budgets, data cleaning and management, and manage approvals and re-approvals in duties that include but are not limited to:
- Manage participant recruitment, session tracking, and data collection data that will be executed by program facilitators, graduate and undergraduate students and other research personnel
- Clean, code, and manage data for both studies
- Keep IRB approval for both studies up to date and serve as a proxy for both studies within the IRB system.
- Participate a in team meetings
Work interactions
Closely supervised by the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant works closely with the current Ph.D. student and participate in team meetings.
Qualification
BA/BS degree -
preference for a MA degree
Preferred qualifications
- Spanish speaking skills - due to the DC metropolitan area’s growing Spanish speaking population, because data are collected in the home and that the study examines parents’ talk with each other and children
- Observational coding experience using Datavyu software and Excel
- Familiarity with STATA or other statistical software - such as R
- Current driver’s license
- Research experience collecting data and/or managing data collection
- Experience using database software
- Experience with IRB protocols and budget oversight
