Provide services as a Research Analyst in support of the overall functions of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Work collaboratively with data scientists and application developers to develop informatics infrastructure and support for rare diseases research.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with staff to analyze scientific, technical, programmatic and administrative data to identify trends and accomplishments and to make budgetary and programmatic projections. 1
• Develop analytical documents that synthesizes and presents results of data analyses and draws inferences, outlines options, and makes recommendations that bear on program activities and policies. 3
• Produce publication quality, informative graphical representations of images from research studies. 4
• Participate on publications team on the development and production of annual and quadrennial news publications. 5
• Work with staff on researching and drafting technical reports, analyzing data from the studies and publishing research findings. 2
• Research, develop, review and revise a variety of documents and reports related to Institute initiatives, programs and research.
• Research and perform quality control programs using selected statistical methods for use in quality control analysis.
• Work with staff in preparing written reports pertaining to research progress and performance, or to operational, financial or other issues.
• Design and present variety of standardized scientific, technical, operational and performance summaries, reports and dashboards.
• Update in data processing, programming scripts, database development, documentation, and/or data visualization - Bi- Weekly
• Present update to other team members - Bi-Weekly

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Systems, Computer Programming and Data Processing, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or Mathematics and Computer Science.
• Skilled in Python software.
• Experienced in computer programming, database development and maintenance, machine learning and/or natural language processing, and data visualization.
• Knowledge in health and biomedical sciences.

• Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
