Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process.
Registered Nurse (RN) duties include but are not limited to:
- Participates in the development, interpretation and implementation of the department’s philosophy, objectives, standards, policies and procedures.
- Utilizes the nursing process in planning, providing and evaluating each patient’s care, and produces a written nursing assessment and up-to-date individualized care plan.
- Develops measurable goals on the Individualized Treatment Plan that are mutually set with the treatment team and patient.
- Modifies nursing component of the Master Treatment Plan as required by changing patient needs, as determined by evaluation of care administered and established standards of care. Keeps treatment plan updated and reviews the plan with patients.
- Provides a safe, therapeutic environment that protects the patient’s rights.
- Actively participates in Non-Violent Crisis Interventions as necessary.
- Develops a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients; assists patient in developing coping mechanisms to deal with feelings.
- Serves as a role model for other nursing staff or patients by appearance, manner, attitude and tone.
- Establishes contact with the patient’s physician and interdisciplinary team in order to assist in planning the patient’s care in a professional manner.
- Intervenes to de-escalate patients; is able to use appropriate interventions on a daily basis; demonstrates an understanding and follows up with level system.
- Admits, discharges and transfers patients based on the physician’s orders and completes the proper documentation.
- Administers medication.
- Observes patient behavior for changes in order to intervene appropriately, guide non-licensed nursing staff and communicate & document changes.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.- Current status as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan required.
- One year experience with Child Adolescent and Adult patients required for PRN.
- One year of nursing experience in a psychiatric setting required for PRN.
- Current certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
- Current certification in BLS/CPR preferred.
- Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
