General Summary of Position
Serves as multisite Business Operations Manager with administrative responsibility and accountability for the management and direction of the surgical operations of Perioperative Services. Oversees operational functions of surgical scheduling, performance improvement, surgeon relations, and department-level performance metric tracking and accountability for multiple hospitals. Serves on hospital-wide and corporate committees to advance cost and performance improvements.


Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, healthcare, accounting or other related field required and
  • Master's degree MHS/MBA preferred

Experience

  • 3-4 years Related experience in health care OR setting required
  • Previous supervision experience in OR setting required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, internal departments and external agencies.
  • High proficiency interpretation of financial reporting & highly skilled with financial reporting software systems, spreadsheets, and graphics.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops reports and reporting platforms to increase transparency and information flow.
  • Oversees surgical scheduling for the Baltimore Region.
  • Participates in the developing, reviewing, and revising of operational policies and procedures in conjunction with Perioperative Leadership.
  • Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Works closely with physicians and their offices to ensure efficient use of OR resources.
  • Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and business unit in community outreach efforts.
  • Oversees and maintains all aspects of the surgical block schedules for the Baltimore region.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and maintains effective working relationships with other departments.
  • Aids providers, administration, and leadership to improve quality through data analysis.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with subordinates to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.
