JOB SUMMARY: The Employment Case Manager provides a range of comprehensive community-based case management services, including employment and training, and educational programs for individuals who are homeless with disabilities, and/or returning to the community from incarceration, networks with public and private employers to develop employment opportunities for clients. The position performs client intake, assessment of employment eligibility, job coaching, resume writing, follow up with clients, and upkeep of program files. This position serves as a liaison to the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, Anchor Mental Health (Core Service Agency), and Housing, to identify and coordinate community resources and make the appropriate referrals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct services to clients including referrals, advocacy, crisis resolution and family support:

- Work closely with Program Manager and Case Manager to identify appropriate clients for employment and training programs.
- Provide employment services to a minimum of 25 clients per year and ensure employment or enrollment in an educational workforce development class according to the expected contract outcomes.
- Perform job readiness, counseling, and related admin tasks for the employment program.
- Interview, assess and develop service plans directly related to obtaining employment.
- Conduct client intake, up keeping of program files and ensure adherence to project quality standards. Keep clients records and maintain case notes in mandated data systems, according to Program and COA standards.
- Provide Job Readiness Workshops and job counseling to clients of Employment Program and other training programs. Assistance includes preparing resumes, online job applications, resolving problems with employers.
- Recruit, train and supervise volunteers assigned to work on job development and other program assignments.
- Assist in performing Finance-related functions.

- Ensure compliance and consistency with savings plans developed with Housing Case Manager and/or Financial Stability Network.
- Work with clients to secure personal savings accounts.
- Work with clients to resolve any cash deposit issues that arise.
- Work with client to compile a weekly/monthly summary report/s of cash deposits.
- Develop and prepare regular financial reports for internal management procedures on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis as requested.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
- Three (3) years’ experience in social services/outreach services in the community with focus on employment.
- 3 years’ experience working with incarcerated adults including those with mental disorders.
- 1 year of experience of job development.
- Must be able to pass background check to gain access to secured facilities.
- Driving is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
- Ability to use good problem-solving techniques.
