POSITION SUMMARY:
Women’s Lunch Place is looking for a personable, detail-oriented person to join our team. The Resource Center Coordinator is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the Resource Center (RC). The RC is staffed by volunteers who assist guests with access to computers, office supplies, and other resources. The RC Coordinator establishes and maintains updated written policies and procedures for volunteer staff and is responsible for training, scheduling, and supervising all volunteer staff in the RC. The RC Coordinator actively works with staff and volunteers to engage guests and coordinate services according to our integrated model of care, helping vulnerable women gain access to housing, mental health services, substance use disorder treatment, and other critical resources. Volunteer duties include providing administrative support to the Volunteer Manager in screening, interviewing, and scheduling volunteers.

Position Status: Full Time (40 hours per week, Tuesday- Saturday)
Salary Range: $55,000-$58,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Resource Center Management:
- Oversee the functioning of all technology in Resource Center
- Ensure that all information on resources including employment opportunities, emergency services and referral lists are updated regularly and accessible to guests.
- Maintain RC supplies
- Provide information and referrals to guests, as requested.
- Maintain log and data of daily activities of the RC, input utilization report daily to Filemaker.
- Provide immediate crisis de-escalation intervention.
- In collaboration with other staff, develop and offer workshops for guests that enhance their competencies in finance, public benefits, computers, health, job skills, health, housing and all other topics that will improve quality of life and promote economic self-sufficiency.
- Work in coordination with managers to collaborate with expert providers to offer workshops and skill trainings at shelter.
- Provide programming with Tech Goes Home and build new partnerships with agencies that will provide job skill training, support guests in their independent job searches, employment goals and opportunities.
- Provide support to advocacy program as required
Resource Center Volunteer Management:
- Schedule volunteers and work with Volunteer Manager to ensure proper staffing of the RC
- Train and supervise volunteers and interns (here after referred to as “volunteers”) working in the RC.
- Review and regularly update Policies and Procedures Manual for RC in partnership with Advocacy Manager (at least annually)
- Develop and provide training programs to educate volunteers on RC policies & procedures, operation of equipment, guest assistance including assisting guests with applications for benefits (e.g. Food Stamps, MassHealth, clothing referrals, etc.)
- Assist with maintaining updated print materials and information for volunteers, including writing, and producing the bimonthly volunteer newsletter, volunteer appreciation efforts, and training activities.
- Assist with processing online volunteer applications. Email or call to arrange interviews with applicants. Run volunteer Orientation programs.
- Ensure regular and on-going communication with volunteers and promote a sense of teamwork.
- Maintain Volunteer Database (Volgistics) for accuracy. Review schedules and reconcile service hours data.
- Maintain relationships with program managers overseeing volunteers.
- Assist with special visitor groups – conduct tours, answer questions, oversee projects.
- Represent WLP at conferences and outreach tables as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Technology fluency required
- Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Human Services, Social Work or other Liberal Art degrees or equivalent life experience
- Commitment, understanding and/or experience working with low-income and homeless women.
- Strong listening, group facilitation and writing skills.
- Bilingual preferred.
Language and Communications Skills:
- Strong organizational skill and high level of responsiveness, effective listening and writing skills
- Ability to manage in-person requests and phone/email contacts
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Internet Sourcing.
- Compassion, sensitivity, flexibility, sense of humor and patience.
- Commitment to working as a team with volunteers and staff and working cooperatively approach with volunteers and guests.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision and hearing abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision and ability to hear conversations in office and group settings. Attendance at appointments, meetings or events in the community is required.
Work Environment:
The work environment is a busy shelter community; the Resource Center is used by guests and accessed by others throughout the workday. The noise level is sometimes high and activities distracting.
