GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Provides crisis intervention, hospital response, follow-up counseling, court advocacy and accompaniment and referral services primarily to Spanish speaking survivors of sexual assault/abuse. Develops and presents outreach programs and brochures, specifically to underserved populations. Participates with other program staff to provide “on-call” 24-hour crisis intervention services. Represents program on community boards, committees and organizations. 40 Hours/Week Full Time.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF POSITION:
- Provides crisis intervention, counseling and advocacy services for underserved populations experiencing sexual assault/abuse as well as their family members specifically for Spanish speaking survivors.
- Provides coordination of services with medical facilities, law enforcement agencies, the Office of the District Attorney and other community agencies when appropriate.
- Provides court advocacy for victims.
- Interacts with RCC volunteers to provide 24-hr crisis intervention staffing,
- Develops and presents outreach programs in the community for survivors of sexual violence and to bring awareness to the community.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from a four-year college or university in human services or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in counseling or working with victims.
OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is required
