Labcorp is seeking a Scientist I based in Research Triangle Park, NC, with a proven deep understanding of analytical chemistry as it relates to toxicology testing. The must be well versed in developing, validating, and implementing high throughput toxicology assays. The Scientist must have experience designing high throughput multi-analyte LC-MS/MS assays (preferably on a Sciex platform).

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates current assays to identify opportunities for improvements in quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Develops, validates, and aids in implementing new analytical toxicology assays and analytical instrumentation.
• Documents and interprets experimental results and validations.
• Presents experimental work to peers and laboratory management.
• Coordinates with other laboratory staff (locally and remotely) to perform experimental work.
• Trains laboratory staff to perform procedures.
• Maintains all appropriate records.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in developing high throughput LC-MS/MS assays for small molecules in biological samples.
• Able to work independently and as a member of a geographically dispersed team.
• Creatively problem solve analytical challenges and challenges inherent to large scale production laboratories.
• Independently follows established protocols.
• Clearly and concisely communicates.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or analytical toxicology with 0-3 years of experience.

OR

• Scientist with demonstrated ability to ably and independently perform all elements of the job, have exceptional capabilities in own field of expertise and the potential for creativity and external collaboration.
