General Functions:

Direct and coordinate all AQL and QC projects, and along with Plant Quality Manager and Plant Manager, give the last word on ‘acceptable’ quality. Review and analyze product quality control results and report numbers of non-conformity with product specifications and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

· Perform original sample inspections and release original samples for delivery to customer.

· Responsible for leading and managing all AQL or QC projects and ensure that established quality standards are being achieved, including:

o Oversee the structure of the project, i.e. range of acceptable standards, outline of sample size and ensure conformance to customer specifications

o Supervise QC employees and ensure staffing is appropriate to manage workload.

o Communicate AQL procedures and desired standards clearly to crews. Continually monitor quality and instruct employees how to maintain consistent quality standards.

o Along with Quality Manager and Plant Manager, has the last word on ‘acceptable’ quality standards and communicate that to project staff.

o Document inspection results and details all non-conformances. Verify the accuracy of all paperwork, counts and QC project information before distributed to Quality Manager, Customer Service and Sales.

· Respond to ALL CSR / Sales re-sort count, AQL project status and informational requests.

· Ensure the integrity of customer product labeling. Verify all customer, product, PO and quantity information is accurate.

· Be well versed in all AQL Inspection procedures as stated in the Everett Graphics Quality System Manual.

· Assist in training new inspector/packers and other QA inspectors

· Assist in the set-up and/or organize QC work stations and quarantine area in accordance with Everett Graphics Quality System Manual.

· Work with production leads and set-up operators to ensure customer satisfaction with job runs. Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.

· Work with Plant Quality Manager to develop and implement AQL/QC Inspection procedures.

· Assist in design of custom cases to ensure damage free shipment of product.

· Assist in selection and management of Sales samples.

· Interface positively with others in the organization to ensure customer quality requirements are met.

· Complies with all company policies and procedures.

Physical Limitations: Work may require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds; frequent bending, climbing, and reaching; sitting for up to twelve (12) hours per day; standing up to twelve (12) hours per day, and occasional travel.

Education and/or Experience:

· High School Diploma, minimum of three (3) years in Printing Industry, Quality Assurance experience preferred.

Skills Required:

Language/Communication Skills

· Detail oriented with strong, written and verbal communication skills

· Must communicate effectively to the appropriate departments to ensure work continuity

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

· Ability to learn and understand; follow directions.

· Strong problem solving skills, able to withstand fast paced environment

Computer Skills

· Competent in Microsoft Office Word/Excel

· Will train, unless has previous knowledge of Hagen Business System

Mathematical Skills

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Judgment Required:

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and distribute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
