Position Summary:
We're looking for a talented, passionate, and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Quality Engineer with the focus of working with our internal manufacturing locations to drive product consistency and waste reduction while ensuring our products are safe, consistently delight consumers, and fully comply with all regulatory and food safety expectations.
The Quality Engineer can be based out of the following locations:
Lawton, MI (30% travel)
Erie, PA (15% travel)
What You'll Do:
- Lead product focused projects aimed at reducing waste (product, process, resource) and improving product consistency. Drive zero loss culture mindset to meet FSQ and plant objectives.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and leadership for food safety and quality issues at manufacturing sites to ensure the highest quality and safest food reaches our consumers and customers.
- Develop and foster interactions with R&D scientists and manufacturing partners to ensure successful project execution
- Leverage continuous improvement tools (root cause, corrective action, actionable metrics, training) to identify and successfully drive improvements in areas of waste reduction, product consistency, consumer complaints, and operational product issues.
- Provide leadership and execution of CQV (commissioning / qualification / verification) process for new production lines, new products, new processes.
- Other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
- An experienced food safety & quality leader who can effectively work and influence in a manufacturing plant environment
- A proactive collaborator who plans and executes projects, gaining alignment and support across functions to deliver against strategic goals and day to day issue management.
- A solution-oriented business partner who can use their comprehensive understanding of plant operations (in food or pharmaceuticals) to work independently as the voice of food safety and quality to evaluate the full work process
- Someone with technical curiosity and the ability to translate insights into action and results
- An individual with strong project management skills (organization, planning, team leadership)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A strong team player who can work well in a dynamic environment and maintains a level of flexibility to support the broader team and deliver business results.
- A person who is passionate about delivering consistent, high-quality products to our consumers and customers that are safe and fully comply with all regulations.
- Understands the needs of the customer and consumer by using technology, data and insights.

What You'll Need:
- 1+ years of experience in Corporate Food Safety or Quality Assurance, Plant Quality Assurance, and/or Plant Operations with demonstrated expertise managing food safety and quality projects in Food/Beverage Industry.
- B.S. required and preferred in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or Microbiology
- Working knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, statistical process control, GMPs, CIP, sanitary design, and total quality management principles or techniques
- Ability to travel 15% to 30% travel (project based, mostly domestic)
