Canlak Coatings, headquartered in North Brunswick NJ, is a Private Equity owned company focusing on wood coatings products.

Canlak Coatings offers a comprehensive portfolio of wood coatings products which serves the sports, commercial and residential flooring, as well as cabinet and furniture manufacturing sectors.

Summary

As the QC Lab Tech your are responsible for assisting with the technical development and formulation of coating systems to support the achievement of the company's business goals and objectives. You will perform manual and automated tests on company products, calibrate test equipment, and ensure that safety and other processes are being followed, to ensure compliance with industry regulations. Additionally, you will provide assistance to the more senior members of the R&D team with the development of new products and improving of existing ones.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist R&D Team with developing new wood floor coatings
• Conduct inspection checks on goods and production processes
• Ensure compliance with to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications
• Gain proficiency in all preparation and application techniques
• Conduct manual and automated quality checks
• Keep accurate records of all tests performed, including results
• Recognize coating defects during testing
• Prepare and maintain test data for review
• Evaluate test data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
• Identify areas for quality control improvements and implement new methods accordingly
• Qualify raw material replacements in existing products
• Verify that raw material replacements have no impact on produce and/or to the customer
• Perform post-launch QC specification audits and compare to theoretical values. Report all findings
• Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
• Responsible for monitoring conditions of lab testing equipment and ensuring it is in clean and working order - calibrate and clean testing equipment
• Responsible for keeping lab adequately stocked with necessary supplies
• Provide project updates in set intervals
• Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice

Education and/or Experience

• High School diploma – Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Three (3) years’ experience in related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
