Quality Control Inspector
Job description
Summary
Main responsibilities are to investigate and respond to the more technical customer inquiries, complete packaging and quality control duties, and complete various testing to check for consistent and compliant quality. The Quality Control Inspector ensures that a product design, company procedure, or technical solution meets company, regulatory, and industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Establishes, maintains, and builds relationships with vendors, customers, and internal departments to help facilitate the timely completion of projects
· Communicates to senior management updates on all products under development, and their stage of development
· Provides technical expertise and training to other departments in support of quality department.
· Follows the appropriate steps of the quality control and issue resolution process, including the following:
o Responding to all quality issues reported by Sales via designated product/project management/tracking tools
o Analyzing and troubleshooting defective products or situations
o Coordinates inspection activities, including any required action on inventory and open orders, with various other departments as needed (e.g., quality control, purchasing, engineering and sales) towards resolution of product-related issues
o Develops, reviews and finalizes Corrective Action Reports and coordinates submission to appropriate sales manager and customer to resolve the quality issue at hand
o Works through the issue resolution process until corrective action is taken and validation has been confirmed
· Manages requests for specification changes to existing product to ensure that evaluation, documentation and implementation occurs within established processes and objectives, including the following:
o Responds to all design specification changes, requested by Sales or reported by Supplier, via designated product/project management/tracking tools
o Coordinates review activities with various other departments as needed to ensure that new design specifications are effectively communicated, verified prior to implementation into production, and validated prior to customer delivery
· Updates job knowledge by remaining current on regulations and requirements, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, etc., and also takes steps to increase real-world product application knowledge
· Complete periodic water testing, vibration testing, and photometric testing

Education and/or Experience
· Associate/Technical degree required; Bachelor preferred
· 2-4+ years of experience in a Quality-related position
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Driver’s License required
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence in a pleasant and professional manner. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Math Skills
Ability to perform basic math functions (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, and divide). An understanding of geometry and angles is preferred.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Skilled at using Outlook, Word, Excel, SmartSheet, and the internet.

In general, this incumbent will work in an office environment with moderate to low noise levels. From time to time, depending on projects, this incumbent may need to work in the warehouse environment.
Travel
The estimated travel required for this position is 25% with anticipated travel to our Winnsboro, TX location at least one week per month.
