What You’ll Do
The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is part of the interdisciplinary team which coordinates services and programs for youth with developmental/intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.

Primary duties:
  • Ensures the design and delivery which provides each youth with an appropriate active treatment program.
  • Ensures that any discrepancies or conflicts between programmatic, medial, dietary and vocational aspects (if needed) of the youth’s assessment and program are resolved.
  • Ensures follow-up to recommendations for services, equipment or programs as identified by the functional assessment.

Customer Contact/Relationships:
The QIDP interacts directly with clients and families. The frequency varies with needs, availability of client, and level of intensity. It usually ranges from several times per week to weekly and may include availability in the evenings and weekends. The employee also interacts frequently with residential therapists, physicians, and other employees involved in the case. There is interaction with community agencies and providers such as: court, schools, health care providers, referrals sources, and other services. Caseload expectations will take into account training, case complexity, level of frequency, and/or other assigned duties.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • BA/BS Social Work/Counseling/Psychology or a related field required.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work/Counseling or a related field preferred.
  • One year experience in a social service setting working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
