We are seeking a Purchasing/Warehouse Manager to join our hard working and fast-paced team in McMinnville, OR. The Purchasing/Warehouse Manager is responsible for the operation associated with our purchasing and warehouse activities at our Smith Cookie plant in McMinnville, OR. Provides oversight, leadership and training to ensure company business goals are met.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Regularly meets with suppliers to maintain inventory management and pricing commitments and strategy.
- Research and engage with suppliers for new products and improved pricing.
- Maintain proper inventory of supplies in accordance to production and sanitation requirements.
- Work with accounting team to process payments, invoices, etc.
- Contribute to the development of new products such as costing, setting up product, proofing labels, etc.
- Manage customer specifications including existing and new customer products.
- Develop and maintain product specifications and documents.
- Maintain various programs such as Kosher, shelf-life, certificates of analysis, etc.
- Partner with Bakery Manager to maintain warehouse operations to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
- Coordinate ordering and transport of ingredients and supplies.
- Manage warehouse inventory counts following operational guidelines.
- Provide day to day management and leadership of non-exempt and union employees.
- Help to ensure facility is clean, organized, properly maintained and free of hazards.
- Investigate problems and takes or recommends corrective action as needed.
- Adhere to and follow the Company’s Core Values.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar position, and/or a display of increasing experience and responsibilities.
- Experience managing projects.
- Experience with a manufacturing environment, a plus
- Experience with a unionized environment, a plus
