Indiana University’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), a department within the Division of Student Affairs and integrated within IU’s Health Center is a diverse interdisciplinary team located in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana a welcoming college town surrounded by hills, forests, lakes, biking, and hiking trails. There are diverse cultural events, a broad array of food, restaurants, and people from across the country and the world.

• Conducts individual intake assessments
• Provides direct clinical services to IUB students – individual, group, couples counseling
• Documents telephone and face to face consultations with IUB faculty, staff, family members and any others pertaining to students of concern, who may or may not be CAPS clients.
• Maintains accurate, timely clinical notes, following CAPS’ Quality Improvement committee standards regarding such things as documentation of diagnosis, substance use, threats to self and others and treatment planning.
• Assists with reducing stigma and stereotypes that discourage minority students from seeking counseling.

EDUCATION

Required

• Ph.D. in psychology from an APA accredited program (counseling or clinical)
• PsyD in psychology from an APA accredited program and internship

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

• 1 year post-doctoral clinical service under supervision of a licensed psychologist
• Completion of a pre-doctoral internship that meets licensure standards for the State of Indiana

Preferred

• 2 years experience post doctorate

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required

• Licensed Psychologist must be licensed in the State of Indiana

This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
