The Shortage Control Project Manager protects company assets and reduce inventory shortage by managing and implementing merchandise protection strategies .TheShortage Control Project Managerwillwork alongsidethe Shortage Control team toutilizephysicalinventory results and create or fine-tune strategies to mitigate shortage risksbyensuringEAS(Electronic Article Surveillance)devicesand resources arestrategized,planned,and fulfilled. The role will develop and execute a cohesive merchandise protection strategy to drive improvement in shortage results, and they willsupportEAS tagging optimization initiatives. TheShortage Control Project Manageris empowered to develop and lead newmerchandise protectioninitiativesby generatingandidentifyinginnovative ideas and solutions to protect our merchandise via emerging technologies and by staying ahead of industry trends.The position isalsoresponsible forsupporting theplanning and oversight ofphysical inventories in all store locations biannually.

• Build and execute a cohesive merchandise protection strategy todrive improvement in shortage results. Assess current processes and operations to ensure existingEAStechnology is beingleveraged.Develop a consistent and simplified approach to EAS technologytoreduce unnecessary EAS supply expense
• Develop and lead new device initiatives -Generate andidentifyinnovative ideas and solutions to protect our merchandise via emerging technologies and by staying ahead of industry trends through research, networking, professional retail organization memberships, etc.Understand how Burlington’s merchandise protection strategies compare to those of our retail competitors.
• Support EAS tagging optimization initiatives. Work closely with Shortage Control colleagues toanalyzephysical inventory resultstoassess merchandise categories and/or markets with opportunities for improvement.
• Support biannual physical inventory, reconciliation, and reporting . Work cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Stores, and Merchant organizations to complete annual inventory reconciliation.

The ideal candidate will have aBA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, oran applicablefield of studyand 5 - 7 years of experience in retail Shortage Control, Asset Protection, and/or Operations with an emphasis on project management. Experience withfinancial analysisand/or accounting preferred.Strong analyticaland project managementskills.Possess excellent presentation skills, both verbal and writtenskills.

Ocassional travel is required.
