JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Center for Supply Chain Research® (CSCR) in the Smeal College of Business invites applications for a Program Manager in the delivery of our experiential learning portfolio and in managing the finances and business activities of the center.
As part of a small staff reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position requires a candidate to be self-directed, conscientious, and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines; and demonstrate a genuine appreciation for working with diverse audiences in a team environment as our clients include industry executives as well as Supply Chain and Information Systems faculty and students as well as University administrators and staff.
Overall, this position is responsible for:
Financial [SIMBA and banking]:
- Initiating invoices and processing payments from external Industry Sponsors.
- Maintaining/reconciling all Center financial records of ~$750,000-$1M per year in gift/research funds and expenditures.
Experiential Learning support:
- Project management to include initial corporate sponsor project coordination and initiation of upwards of 10+ student research projects per semester (many as teams of students), tracking progress through interaction, and aiding in scheduling final industry presentations with assigned faculty members.
- Provide logistical support for students and faculty as part of the courses associated with these research projects.
Administrative role:
- Managing 24 virtual sprint offerings [our, non-credit education portfolio] per year to include devising the yearly schedule, working with the software provider, both creating and maintaining registration sites, and troubleshooting technical issues and attendee issues/questions.
- Managing a Center-related student scholarship application and evaluation process
- Utilize Worklion to create job postings and initiate hires; communicate the process with hiring staff members; serve as timekeeper for wage payroll staff; assist in the VISA process for our CSCR Research Associate.
- Creating and overseeing event registration sites for upwards of 12 events per year.
Additional duties relating to daily operation and support may include managing team calendars, greeting visitors, providing information/direction to callers, assisting with travel arrangements/expense reports, assisting with event logistics and program materials, and serving as Secretary to the CSCR® Advisory Board.
Desired Skills:
- Proficiency in SIMBA or, demonstrated ability to become proficient in an accelerated timeframe.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce and Cvent is desired; proficiency in SAP Concur, Workday/Worklion, and 25Live Scheduling is preferred.
- Candidate must possess excellent customer service, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills.
This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus 2 years of related experience o r an equivalent combination of education and experience .
A hybrid work schedule of ~3 days on-site, and 2 off-site will be considered; this position does not allow for a remote work situation as most of the interactions are in-person.
