The Pre-K Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Pre-K programs within Purpose Built Schools Atlanta. The Pre-K Manager will work with teachers, staff, parents, and community partners to ensure that all Pre-K students receive a quality education that prepares them for success in future academic pursuits. It is the responsibility of the Pre-K Manager ensure the Pre-K program meets state and federal regulations while also providing a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for students.


Due to the nature of the role, the Pre-K Program Manager is an annual position.


Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and oversee curriculum and policies for the Pre-K program.
  • Hire and supervise staff members and maintain regular communication with families.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Work with pre-k teachers to monitor educational goals for children and track their development.
  • Manage Pre-K budget and fundraising efforts to secure resources needed for the program.
  • Collaborate with other community organizations and vendors to support program goals.
  • Record-keeping, documentation and evaluation of program activities.
  • Administer and evaluate services to children and families.
  • Serve as a family advocate to support family well-being and promote children's learning and development in Head Start and Bright from the Start Program.
  • Maintain required documentation for Head Start, Bright from the Start (BFTS), GA Pre-K, as well as any other governing agencies.
  • Recruit eligible children, including those with disabilities, and assist families in completing registrations.
  • Develop and provide intervention strategies to improve and promote regular attendance.
  • Monitor attendance and discuss with family the importance/benefits of regular attendance.
  • Make referrals to the Director of Special Education on children with disabilities, prior to enrollment.
  • Establish and maintain a network of resource contacts to facilitate services and referrals for emergency and crisis situations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of case management services within ChildPlus software and other required data management systems.
  • Conduct/Monitor Home Visits.
  • Establish and maintain a system for ensuring children’s health screenings and exams and obtain complete health history and parental consent on all health/education screenings.
  • Maintain accurate health/medical and immunization documentations in the file and within the ChildPlus Software for immunizations, medical screenings, treatment plans and other medical information.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and identify and connect families to Medical Homes.
  • Ensure treatment plans are documented and delivered.
  • Establish, update, maintain and close confidential files on all enrollees, including ChildPlus data entry in all appropriate modules.
  • Support a welcoming and nurturing environment that incorporates the unique cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds of families in the program and community.


Minimum Experience:

  • Education: Master's Degree required in Early Childhood, Reading, Social Work, or related field required
  • Certification/License: Valid Georgia teaching certificate at level 5 or higher required, Leadership preferred.
  • Work Experience: 3 years required in educational field
