Pay Range $13-$17.50/hr

Educational Requirements:

• HS Diploma (required)

• Sensitivity to the individual and group needs of children.
• Gives a joyful approach to the children.
• Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
• Sufficient maturity and good judgment to function in a crisis situation.
• Ability to create an atmosphere of positive and appropriate discipline.
• Logical decision-making ability.
• Physical abilities required include the ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances, to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds, and to use arms, hands, legs, and feet with or without a corrective device to accomplish the job, including evacuation of the building during emergencies.

The Breaker is responsible for the welfare, health, and safety of the children in the group.

• Implement and model the school-wide behavior of positive reinforcement and redirection.
• Maintain order in all areas of the classroom where children are present.
• Use appropriate and positive discipline.
• Supervise bathroom use in and out of the class and ensure that all children are following bathroom rules and hand-washing procedures.
• Be competent in First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, and Fire Safety procedures and regulations.
• Be knowledgeable with laws, state child regulations, and local regulatory agencies. Attend all mandatory school-related events and activities.
