The Portfolio Officer is responsible for retaining and growing existing high value customer relationships. The Portfolio Officer will be a key member of the Business Relationship Team with at least 5 years of experience in business lending and portfolio management with deposit and treasury product knowledge. The Portfolio Officer must be team oriented, have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, goal oriented, adaptable to change, and willing to contribute to the overall team success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Delivers on the Bank’s tagline of “Your Best Banking Experience – Ever!” by reinforcing the application of superior customer service through own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees; actively participates in specific periodic meetings and presentations on this topic with all staff members.
- Proactively reach out to existing top high value customers four times per year, including one in-depth annual review, to go over the existing deposit and loan relationship, inquire about any new financing needs, encourage additional deposits, and ensure there are no outstanding customer service issues.
- Work with Credit Analyst team and Loan Servicing department to gather financials and other documents for loan renewals or new financing requests from customers.
- Work with Operations and Treasury teams for any existing deposit account issues or new treasury product requests.
- By delivering exceptional service, earn the trust and respect of the existing customers to ask for referrals of other companies and business owners. Refer these new leads to the Business Relationship Officers.
- Have the ability to learn technology and systems both on the loan side and deposit side to effectively and efficiently answer customer questions and assist in the resolution of any issues.
- Maintain an awareness of loan rates, deposit rates, bank initiatives, bank policies, and security protocols that protect the customer’s information and bank assets and be able to communicate those clearly to customers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- The position of Portfolio Officer is not responsible for the supervision of any employees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred or 5 years+ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Business Lending experience with deposit and treasury product knowledge.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Time Managements Skills.
- Ability to problem-solve (Identify issues and provide plausible and efficient solutions).
- Must be team oriented and work well with others.
- Detail-Oriented; strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Basic technical skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing, spreadsheet, and specialty software programs.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, operate a computer, and telephone.
