Job Purpose
Dana Incorporated is seeking a Sr. Platform Manager within the Commercial Vehicle business unit to lead and maintain platforms globally. This responsibility includes ensuring on time customer delivery of all program milestones while achieving corporate cost targets & maintaining a high standard of quality. It is expected that the Sr Platform Manager will take an active role managing part of the platform assigned as well as assisting the systemic improvements of the function and global launch process enhancements and talent development within the Global Program Management team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Subject matter expert in PMO practices
- Manages and leads a small team of direct reports
- Lead and maintain reporting of status for the platform globally
- Manages the strategy of platform programs execution
- Provides guidance and seeks approval of key program issues
- Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting program(s).
- Launches platform level programs that may span across multiple BUs
- Manages the program investment needs and seeks approvals
- Responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of program scope
- Ensures program cost, timing and performance objectives in line with customer program expectations
- Responsible for achieving each of the Program Management goals
- Develop and implement business process improvements
- Provides management and development guidance to those outside his/her group
- Establishes team member development plans to support succession plan
- Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free
- Manage work schedules and organize employee training.
- Resolve employee and customer issues.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or another related field.
- MBA preferred
- 10+ years’ Program Management experience.
- Management experience preferred
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Well-rounded experience preferred in as many of the following areas: program management, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product engineering, applications engineering, quality, sales and purchasing.
- Advanced understanding of APQP and program management techniques.
- Ability to successfully function in a matrix style of management, managing a variety of cross-functional team members.
- Long term strategist understands total business needs
- Strong functional and technical skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Natural transferer of knowledge.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
- Excellent leadership and follow-up skills; competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making; and shows aggressiveness when completing assignments and other responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis concepts and budget management.
- Experience working with either component- or system-level electrification projects preferred.
