Lake Superior Consulting is hiring a Pipeline Engineer IV at our client location in Houston, TX.

In this role you will oversee the design for pipeline, for expansion and maintenance capital projects to ensure compliance with Company standards and specifications and industry standards and managed to the project budget and schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all pipelines and associated facilities (MLVs, Traps) are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate specs and standards.
- Define the scope, schedule, execution planning, risks and budget for the design and materials for pipeline projects.
- Manage the execution of the design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule.
- Ensure that development project scope definitions comply with all regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements through effective management and coordination of internal functional groups.
- Review and approves design deliverables for example drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets.
- Review vendor materials quotations, prepares technical evaluations, and recommends to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery.
- Review and approves fabrication and assembly approval drawings for engineered equipment, and other fabrications (piping fabrications, pig trap barrels, MLVs, etc.).
- Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs.
- Support department initiatives as required.
Position Requirements:
- Engineering degree in an applicable discipline (Mechanical or Civil) - REQUIRED
- Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in engineering design and project management directly related to the transportation of hydrocarbons by pipeline an oil and gas or industrial construction environment (Natural Gas Preferred)
- Aptitude and communications skills related to leading and acting independently
- Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change
- P.E. designation – nice but not required
Physical Requirements and Demands:
- Approximately 75% of work is office-based working with multiple project teams
- Approximately 25% of time is in the field scoping projects or supporting construction and commissioning activities
- Time sensitive deliverables
- Work requires strong computer skills typically using Microsoft Office applications
