As a Phlebotomist

Performs proper specimen collection, by confirming patient ID, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately labeling the specimens to ensure accurate patient results.

• Provides customer service by answering broad technical questions, and directing others to appropriate resources.
• Manages specimen accessioning accurately and efficiently to provide quality specimens for laboratory testing.
• Ensures accurate specimen processing to maintain specimen integrity.
• Performs billing and registration procedures accurately and efficiently in order to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.

As a Registrar

Responsible for collecting patient demographics and insurance information accurately, efficiently, and professionally. The successful applicant will have strong time management abilities and the ability to communicate effectively and in a helpful manner.

• Trained and proficient in technical phlebotomy and venipuncture
• Ability to carefully and safely manage and transport blood samples
• Ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and accurately
• Attention to detail

• Ability to discreetly handle confidential information
• Experience using a computerized information system
• Ability to work independently as well as in group settings
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to adjust to changing plans, schedules, and deadlines

Primary work location will be at the Ludlow Health Center, but may also require travel to other locations as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Familiar with computer and office equipment
• Organizational and team skills
• One (1) year phlebotomy experience (preferred)
• Enrollment in phlebotomy certification class or completion of accredited phlebotomy course (preferred)
• Experience with laboratory information systems (preferred)
• Phlebotomy certification (preferred)
