Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare Chemotherapy

• Intake, enter, and process prescriptions through insurance
• Review chemotherapy orders and treatment schedule according to flow to ensure appropriate medications are scheduled.
• Receive calls from patients and make outgoing calls to schedule delivery of new prescriptions and refills
• Prepare medication labels with appropriate and accurate information in a timely manner
• Prepare all chemotherapy medications accurately and in a timely manner. The appropriate technique is utilized to handle cytotoxic hazardous drugs.
• Prepare all medication copy bills accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain the Nucleus system to ensure accurate inventory.
• Medication stock is assessed and replaced per the established schedule so that outages are minimized.
• Check the medication expiration date monthly.
• Stock & maintain the dispensing area with vials, packing materials, and patient literature

Law Compliance

• Check room and refrigerator temperature daily and record on the refrigerator temperature log to ensure medications are stored appropriately.
• Obtain and log REMS authorization to dispense
• Adheres to standard precautions and safety policies.
• Demonstrates awareness of equipment management and procedures.
• Helps maintain a safe and clean/patient/work environment.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must have fulfilled all requirements of the Board of Certification regulation as determined by the specified state.
• COVID Vaccinated
• Must have 2 years of experience as Pharmacy Technician.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Pharmacy technician experience: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• PTCB Certification (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
