Location: Piedmont Atlanta Hospital

JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Required Hours: 40 hours per week, five 8 hour shifts per week. Shift times 2:30pm-11pm during the week Monday-Friday. 2:30pm-11pm and 10:30am-7pm shifts on weekends and holidays. One weekend every 4th weekend. Two holidays per year on a rotating basis (one major and one minor). IV experience strongly preferred

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registration (current) required with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
IV chemotherapy preparation experience preferred.
PTCB Certification preferred.
