We are currently seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist that is ready for a challenging and rewarding engagement! The successful candidate will be working in a highly collaborative and dynamic team environment, which encourages continuous learning and improvement as well as cross training.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Process multiple client payrolls (located throughout the United States) according to their unique payroll schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, off-cycle).
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed correctly for time, earnings, benefits, deductions, taxes, garnishments, etc.
  • Partner effectively with client stakeholders to record and process any needed changes to each individual pay cycle.
  • Verify and audit employee changes submitted in HRIS in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues and problems with the urgency required to resolve them effectively.
  • Coordinates annual audit prep as requested/required by individual clients (payroll, benefits, workers comp, etc).
  • Coordinates year-end process to insure timely prep and delivery of W2’s.
  • Experience as a team player willing to play a pivotal role in the overall success of the company.
  • Prepare, maintain, balance, and analyze financial data related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables
  • Receive, research, and resolve a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account status including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
  • Review and approve journal entries for accuracy to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Prepares garnishment checks per reports from payroll.
  • Develop training documents and train staff as needed.
  • Maintain and manage vendor and customer database.
  • Serve as backup to the payroll & Benefits Manager to include occasional payroll processing as needed.
  • Strong and effective written, verbal and collaboration skills
  • Strong technical skills and experience with a Windows-based computer environment, including QuickBooks.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth experience with UKG Workforce Ready, preferably including implementation experience as well as full use of HRIS.
  • Ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of related experience, preferably in multi-client or large multi-location company environment.
  • Must have multi-state payroll experience.
