Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Manager of Patient Experience (PX), the Patient Experience Specialist provides leadership and operational support throughout the organization to identify, plan, design and implement patient experience improvement strategies. As a PX professional, this position works in partnership with assigned teams and collaborates with other departments to deliver consistent patient and family centered care, supporting the system-wide, strategic goal of delivering excellent patient experiences. This position acts as a liaison between the organization and the voice of the patient, navigating stakeholder participation in resolution and action planning for “areas of service opportunity.”

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years acute care hospital experience
• Minimum four (4) years’ experience of demonstrated service excellence and knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with demonstrated communication, listening, and writing expertise
• Experience with coaching/training communication and PX best practices
• Ability to employ critical thinking in emotionally-elevated situations
• Strong data analytic/project management skills using a variety of business intelligence tools. Ability to learn and adapt to new programs and administer databases
• Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP) or certification earned within 2 years of hire date
