Resident Assistant Job Description

Reports to: Resident Care Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Resident Assistant (RA) aids residents with activities of daily living and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Since the majority of resident contact occurs via the RA, the community is often judged by the performance of the RA. Therefore, it is important that the RA is polite and always strives to do the best job possible.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred.

COVID-19 Vaccination required

Duties include but are not limited to:

Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living such as:

Assisting with bath or shower

Oral hygiene

Grooming

Dressing

Meals

Perform housekeeping and laundry duties as scheduled

Perform dishwashing and dining room service

Take and record accurate vital signs as directed

Assist residents with self-administration of medications

Respond to residents’ pages for assistance

Notify Resident Care Coordinator/Community Director of any deviation from normal in residents’ status.

Attend all mandatory inservices as scheduled

Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy

Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by RCC or Community Director

Customer Service

• Become familiar with the mission of The Paragon and get to know its residents and other staff.
• Assist with answering telephone calls, both internal and external, in a warm, pleasant and professional manner.
• Greet and assist all persons in a warm and helpful manner.
• Provide other assistance with customer service as assigned by management.

Physical Job Requirements

To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods of time. When lifting or moving objects, proper body mechanics and safety measures must be used.

In a typical eight-hour day, employee may:

4 Stand/walk up to eight hours a day.

4 Sit for up to 30 minutes a day.

4 Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

4 Frequently kneel, bend and reach.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $10.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
Proof of Covid vaccination is required.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Madisonville, KY 42431: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
• Night Shift (Preferred)
