ABOUT THE JOB:

The Group Manager leads all commercial aspects of the Park USA business team with a focus on profitable growth. All aspects of the commercial organization in multiple locations will report into the Sales Director including inside and outside sales, customer service, business development, and sales administration.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate and coordinate the annual sales plan within the product group.
  • Manage and drive sales performance of the product group by offering continuous training and development to meet company growth objectives.
  • Effectively manage the sales lifecycle: lead generation, qualification, meetings, proposals, follow up, and close.
  • Support existing customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and account viability while proactively resolving any issues.
  • Ensure all customers are receiving appropriate contact, communication, and service.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities with strategic targets and key accounts.
  • Mentor team members to produce their best work, set annual goals, and meet growth objectives.
  • Cohesively work with operations, accounting, and HR as needed.
  • Support executive leadership to develop and implement new business development strategies focused on profitable growth.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of designated products and serve as a knowledgeable resource to team members, prospects and customers.
  • Attend meetings as needed with Dispatch and Plant Managers to discuss customer needs, product availability and coordination and production efforts.
  • Based on Responsibilities and Job Description - Determine Skills, needs, and efficiencies of each Team member.
  • Review Job folders periodically to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all projects are accurately quoted and jobs progressing through the process to becoming an awarded Open Job and are updated timely and accurately.
  • Stay informed on all sales activity through open communication with each team member daily.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position directly supervises Project Sales Representative and Customer Service Representatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such contract drawings, technical specifications, bid packet requirements, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and other information given by sales team members.
  • Ability to speak effectively and professionally.
  • Understands the construction value chain including the roles of owners, engineers, distributors, and contractors in selling product.
  • Listens and gets clarification.
  • Ability to perform business math calculations for figures, amounts, margin, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Uses intuition and experience to complement data given.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Proficient in the use of Windows, Excel, MS Access, Word.
  • Excellent organizational skills: prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and quickly, sets goals and objectives, organizes or schedules other people and their tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness while working quickly.
  • Reacts well under pressure.
  • Applies feedback to improve performance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a technical sales/marketing field required, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Municipal sales experience preferable – product sales to contractors or manufacturer direct sales.
  • Experience utilizing a project based CRM to drive customer activity and project flow, SAP and Salesforce preferred.
  • Progressive project management/coordination roles demonstrating leadership and management skills of a team is preferred.
