Organist and Traditional Worship Director

Anona United Methodist Church, located in Largo, Florida, is an inclusive and innovative church that has been serving the TampaBay community for over 150 years.

Anona is seeking a collaborative Keyboardist and Co-Director of
Traditional Worship to provide inspirational organ and piano music and assist in shaping the environment for our Traditional Services in a team setting. This is a full-time position with benefits and will be shaped to best distribute the successful applicant’s talent across our multi-ensemble music department.

• Position available June 1, 2023
• Salary is $50,000/year plus benefits and offers opportunities for additional income

SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Strong and diverse abilities in organ and piano
• Experience in leading musical groups in worship
• Organizational and planning skills in communicating and scheduling of worship groups and teams (Planning Center software experience helpful)
• A teachable spirit and willingness to work in a team environment

DUTIES/TASKS

• Support and uplift Traditional Worship services through inspirational and well- prepared organ and piano music
• Prepare music for weddings, funerals, and other special events as needed
• Work with the Executive Pastor and Pastoral Team on Traditional worship planning
• Provide accompaniment and co-direction of Traditional Worship groups including, but not limited to choral ensembles, orchestra, string ensembles, brass ensembles, and entry level choirs
• Work with the Executive Pastor in organizing, scheduling, and rehearsing soloists, ensembles, and other musical groups as needed to support the Traditional worship services
• Participate in coaching sessions with the Executive Pastor, and regular meetings with Worship Teams and church Program Directors

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

• A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Music, with an emphasis on keyboard studies and/or directing and/or vocal coaching
• Demonstrated musical abilities in organ performance, piano accompaniment, and leading musical groups

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
