Job description
Synergy is looking for a candidate who will support application and database activities in support of the program operations, maintenance, and deployment with instances based on emerging new government requirements. The selected candidate will review database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements, maintain security and integrity controls, formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization.
Job Description:
- Create a data migration plan to migrate data from legacy system to new enterprise solution
- Provide primary support for administering databases
- Evaluate, implement, monitor, and tune database technologies that improve efficiency, performance, and reliability
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, administer, upgrade, and use DBMS system hardware
- Design and build DBMS solutions that are generic, scalable, and reusable
- Analyze requirements and determine best DBMS architecture
- Collaborate with other engineers to develop deployment and maintenance strategies for existing and new DBMS services
- Assist with software and infrastructure management, inventory, installations, configurations, and connectivity
Required Qualifications and Certifications:
- Experienced Oracle DBA with thorough knowledge of Oracle 12c, 19c, 21c, and/or multi-tenant implementations
- Hands-on experience with hosting Oracle on Amazon AWS EC2 Instances
- Experience in application development using shell and PL/SQL scripts to execute application workloads of stored procs, batch activities, and maintenance
- Expertise in data and application architecture principles
- Proficient and experienced in running 24x7 mission critical production databases
- Knowledgeable with replication technologies Active Data Guard and Golden Gate
- Experience using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
- Knowledge of industry-wide data technologies, paradigms, and best practices
- Advanced hands-on experience working with PL/SQL and Jav
- Experienced with Agile methodologies including Kanban, Daily Scrums, and Sprints
- Familiar with Git source control
- Experience with database versioning tools like Flyway / Liquidbase
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to take ownership of assigned role and serve as the SME
- Desire to explore NOSQL database systems
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen or foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
- Must be clearable to a Secret Clearance
