Why does the job exist?
This position supports the New Mexico All Source Intelligence Center (NMASIC) and its role in protecting the citizens and critical infrastructure of New Mexico from a terrorist attack and other threats to the homeland.
How does it get done?
- Manage the NMASIC email inbox and phone line;
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFI);
- Monitor open sources for situational awareness and possible threats to NM public safety;
- Create operational-level products;
- Manage and post valuable information and products to the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) and NM Communities of Interest (COIs) within HSIN.
Who are the customers?
Law enforcement, emergency management, national fusion centers, private sector agencies and partners, and New Mexico policymakers.
Ideal Candidate
- Professional experience in intelligence analysis, homeland security, and/or criminal justice;
- Experienced intelligence analysis and reporting skills;
- Experience producing strategic intelligence or analytical products related to local, state or national security threats and/or terrorist or criminal organizations;
- Experience with the collection of information or intelligence related to local, state and/or national security threats, terrorist or
- Experience in the design, use, or maintenance of intelligence databases and/or software applications;
- Has or can obtain a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Ability to obtain and maintain and retain a U.S. SECRET security clearance. Must possess or have ability to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage and extended periods of sitting with some standing, bending, reaching, and walking. Short and continuous time frames and/or time constraints and performing duties under short time-lines are a common occurrence. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs. Situations may warrant work in a mobile operations center and subject to recall during disasters and other emergencies.
