Operations Financial Analyst

Ready to grow your career and be a part of the best team in heavy equipment? Southeastern Equipment is looking for a Financial Analyst to assist in managing our rapidly growing dealerships in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and West Virginia.” CPA OR CMA is required.

Operations Financial Analyst Responsibilities: The Operations Financial Analyst serves as the leader of the Company’s budgeting and financial planning process and develops management reporting and analytics to support the Company’s operations leadership, including branch operations managers at over 20 store locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Company’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process, including development of company-level and store-level budgets and forecasts.

  • Monitor revenue, expense, and gross margin trends, analyze performance vs. budget, and investigate and report on variances.

  • Provide advisory support to store operations leaders on matters pertaining to budget, accounting, and financial matters, and procedures.

  • Identify, assess, and communicate issues affecting profitability, escalating issues to appropriate leaders within the company

  • Working with operations leadership, set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives

  • Maintain KPIs and calculations for the Company’s operations bonus programs.

  • Develop financial models to support operational decision-making.

  • Provide recurring support to the company’s accounting team on various elements of the month-end and year-end close process.

  • Present detailed monthly financial reports to managers.

  • Collaborate with senior members of the accounting and finance teams.

  • Periodic travel to store locations required

Financial Planning Analyst Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrates excellent financial and quantitative skills.

  • Communicates effectively and has strong presentation skills.

  • Collaborates well with colleagues using adept social skills.

  • Works independently using project management skills.

  • Builds strong working relationships and has exceptional leadership skills.

  • Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Expert working knowledge of Excel

  • Proficient in financial database queries and data analysis

  • Proficient in development of financial models

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • Certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) are preferred.

  • Must have at least 2 years of financial planning experience, including experience with financial planning for a multi-site operation
