The Office Assistant performs all front office duties including answering the telephone, scheduling on-going patient appointments, performs check-in functions, and maintains patient medical records. This individual works together with the clinical staff to achieve quality outcomes for the patient.

Overview of Responsibilities:
- Answer and triage incoming telephone calls/Department Voicemail/email, respond to questions, take appropriate messages, or transfer caller, as necessary.
- Alerts clinical staff to patient arrival is specified situations (i.e., late arrival) via phone, intercom, or Teams.
- Greets patients as they arrive.
- Observes waiting room patients
- Updates chart with copies of current insurance card and patient registration forms when necessary.
- Verifies registration information and corrects, as necessary.
- Keep patients informed of delays and explain alternatives when possible.
- Assist patient with billing questions as capable and refer complex problems to the Office Supervisor or other Rehab Management staff.
- Manages incoming/outgoing mail, faxes, and other correspondence.
- Works assigned work queues and front office pool in Epic
- Sends Attendance and discharge letters
- Makes Evaluation Charts
- Makes New Patient Welcome folders
- Breaks down and works the completed Evaluation charts
- Logs and scans standardized test booklets
- Follows up with patients that no showed to their appointment.
- Manage the Nurse Call Box and alert staff as needed.
- Completes Good Faith Estimates for appropriate patients.
Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Required:
Previous computer experience.
Experience Preferred:
Six months previous clerical experience with a general understanding of insurance, previous work experience in a medical related position, and knowledge of medical terminology.
Schedule Details: Day Shift. 40 hours weekly. Monday - Friday 6:30a-3p or 9:15a-5:45p. What We Offer:
