The School of Nursing, in the College of Health, Science & Public Health at Eastern Washington University is currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for our
50%-time Nursing Skills & Simulation Lab Assistant position.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and caring faculty and staff committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to excellence in serving the community.
The
Nursing Skills & Simulation Lab Assistant reports to the Nursing Skills and Simulation Laboratory Manager. This individual has primary responsibility for assisting faculty and clinical instructors who teach in the skills laboratory and simulation suites. Assistance provided includes skills demonstrations, acting as a simulated patient, and general maintenance and operation of the nursing laboratory and simulation areas.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
- Unencumbered Washington Registered Nurse license, or eligible for licensure
- At least three years recent clinical experience
- Current healthcare provider CPR certification
- Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities
- Demonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years recent clinical experience
- One year experience in a nursing skills and simulation lab
- Strong computer skills, including use of MS Office, Google Suite, and Canvas or other learning management system

- Assist faculty and clinical instructors to implement the skills laboratory curriculum
- Set up, take down, and assist with skills labs, open lab practice sessions, and simulations
- Perform skills demonstrations and assist with supervision of student practice
