The Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Perioperative Services Division is seeking a Nursing Assistant. Nursing Assistants are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement the delegated aspects of nursing care.

Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts rotating shifts starting at 7, 9 and 12. No weekends, call or holiday requirement

Duties to Include:

• Provide Excellence in Health Care Value. (Quality, Satisfaction Cost)
• Maintain a well-organized, clean patient care and employee work area
• Utilize proper body mechanics and safety measures with recognizing potential for patient, staff, or visitor injury and initiates appropriate action to prevent injury
• Practice universal precautions with infection controls in accordance with Institutional Policy and has the knowledge and skills to perform preventative nursing measures in high-risk patients
• Provide Excellence in Service as Defined by Customers
• Interact with patients, visitors and other health care professionals in an effective manner and maintains positive, cooperative relationships
• Correctly perform and assist with necessary personal hygiene tasks and activities of daily living
• Perform treatments as assigned & delegated
• Recognize potential hazards for staff, patients, or visitors and initiate appropriate action to correct the problem

• Work well with all levels and types of people welcomes divergent ideas and maximizes limited resources

• Assist staff during emergencies, within the scope of his/her capabilities
• Maintain process for ordering, obtaining, and securing supplies that is cost effective and meets unit’s needs
