SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Controller – North American Operations is responsible for providing financial and advisory support to the Gallipolis and Princeton Site Leaders, the CFO, and corporate management. In addition, the individual will prepare monthly balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports as requested. Responsibilities include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses, and supervising an Assistant Controller based in Princeton, IN. This position reports to the CFO of ElectroCraft.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functional
- Provide financial statements with supporting schedules, perform financial analysis of the manufacturing operation, and assist in the decision-making process and the company’s financial plans and policies and asset management.
- Maintain standards and calculate Material, Labor, and Overhead costs in close collaboration with Operations staff and Cost Accountant.
- Responsible for maintaining cost accounting elements in Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system.
- Develop and analyze cost variance (PPV, etc.) and profitability reports for multiple product lines, make appropriate recommendations on manufacturing strategy, sourcing, and customer pricing.
- Provide financial support for capital expenditures by Operations, ensuring appropriate mix of spending on productivity, capacity, and maintenance/replacement.
- Support Company’s Corporate Controller and financial institutions as needed for cash management and collateral reporting
- Maintain adequate fiscal records in support of external and internal audits.
- Assist in strategy development in the operation to ensure financial integrity
- Maintain appropriate transfer price policies on intercompany sales and purchases.
- Review and reconciliation of Month–end closing. Provide Variance vs. Budget and Forecast analysis in meaningful detail.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, develop and maintain policies for identifying, reserving, and disposal of slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor and post results of cycle-count inventories; assist Operations team with analysis and reconciliation of significant variances.
- Lead annual budget process at two plants; collaborate with Corporate Controller and CFO on Company consolidation.
- Organize financial vision and strategies that are in alignment with the overall strategic direction of the company and in compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Maintain the integrity of the financial reporting system
- Prepare financial budgets and projections for two principle manufacturing sites
- Practice continuous process improvement techniques by eliminating non-value added activities

Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: ISO 9001, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 - 7 years’ demonstrated experience providing financial leadership in an assembly manufacturing industrial enterprise is required.
- Strong project management and problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills are a must.
- Demonstrated experience with manufacturing site optimization is a strong plus.
- Experience, knowledge or exposure to Lean principles and techniques is a plus.
- CPA is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 10% - 20% overnight travel required to domestic locations, primarily Princeton, IN.
