Bilingual Housing Advocate

Compensation: $21.76/hour

Hours: Regular full-time (40 hours/week)

Benefits: 100% premium paid Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Agency paid
Retirement plan (up to 6%), almost 16 weeks of paid time total accrual during the first five years (increases after that), plus 10 paid Holidays annually and a separate sick leave accrual

Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Bilingual Housing Advocate position provides individualized in-home case management services to clients for purposes of clients’ self-sufficiency, and accessing and maintaining housing. A function of this role is compassionately and professionally performing screening, intake, and assessment with potential clients to establish eligibility for program participation. Referring clients to community partner agencies/service providers and providing advocacy for housing opportunities is an essential element of success in this role. The Bilingual Housing Advocate is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, up-to-date client files and HMIS records. This position works under the direction of the Housing Stabilization Client Services
Manager.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Covid-19 Vaccine Required
• English/Spanish bilingual required
• AA/AS in Human Services or related field required o OR in lieu of education, 3 years direct experience in case management or related services required
• BA/BS in Human Services, or related field preferred
• Two years’ experience (i.e. employment, internships, and long-term volunteer position) in the field preferred
• Ability to travel throughout the tri-county area regularly, even in inclement weather, using personal vehicle required
• Prior to date of hire and throughout employment: o Valid driver’s license o Proof of current auto insurance o Access to reliable transportation required o Satisfactory criminal background check required
