Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Community Standards will assist in the responsibility forproviding innovative leadership for the student code of conduct, policies and procedures,Title IX and risk management for students and student groups.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, student-centered and dedicatedprofessional. This position should be committed to the core values of integrity, respect,responsibility and collaboration, helping to engage students in the learning process.Individuals who are seeking an opportunity to challenge and support students to developand become positive, contributing members of our academic community and societyshould apply for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Continue to monitor Maxient for conduct reports
  • Carry out the conduct process for violations
  • Close out current reports that are still open and need resolution
  • Continue to update academic misconduct reports within Maxient files

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years in student affairs, counseling,multicultural affairs or related experience.

Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related tofunctional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate)
Knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability torapidly assimilate)
Strong presentation skills
Strong problem solving skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
Five to seven years of progressive experience in higher education.
Experience working with community standards.
Active involvement in related professional organizations.
Significant knowledge and expertise in Title IX, Clery and other key compliancecomponents.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues with significant problem-solvingand critical-thinking skills.

Required License / Registration / Certification

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, some Saturdays
10 hours per week
