Job Summary:
The Night Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse activities such as, receiving, shipping, storage and distribution is performed in a professional manner consistent with the preferred methods and processes ofthe company. This position actively participates in managing the receiving, warehousing, and shipping teams as well as hiring, training, coaching and disciplining team members.
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and monitor daily warehouse and shipping activities
- Ensure accuracy of shipments in invoicing and palletizing
- Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations while demonstrating high standards of work place practices and safety conscious behavior
- Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service
- Confer with other team members to coordinate activities of all departments
- Administer duties as required to achieve daily KPI performance
- Establish and adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow
- Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increase efficiency of department, work crews, and equipment performance
- Timely and accurate processing of paperwork and documentation of any discrepancies
- Conduct performance evaluations and address performance issues
- Safeguard and protect warehouse assets
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Business, Logistics or related field (Required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in management role, in warehouse export distribution or related field
- Warehouse Management Systems knowledge and inventory control experience required
- Open to working long hours and working weekends and some holidays
- OSHA certified
- Good understanding of relevant USDA regulations and safe materials handling and business principles
- Knowledge of general business computer software applications and the aptitude to learn new software applications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages
- Must have excellent customer service skills, and supervisory/leadership skills; works well in a team environment; as well as experience using change management and conflict resolution
- Ability to manage and complete multiple responsibilities within established timeframes
- Must be able to operate various pieces of equipment such as, cherry pickers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment used in warehouse operations
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Work to be performed in a warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from -22 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- Regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50+ pounds, occasional climbing of ladders, usage of pallet jacks
- Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable priorities can be anticipated; frequent interruptions, occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor
