We are seeking a motivated and self-driven network engineer interested in joining our global Data center network infrastructure support team responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a highly redundant and scalable network. You will be part of a dynamic network engineering team that is responsible for designing and supporting Network, cloud and security for all Data Centers. You will have an opportunity to learn and contribute to many new design initiatives and deployment projects as we continue to explore new and innovative design solutions or processes to optimize network efficiency, performance, and security. The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $64,000-$112,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Synopsys offers comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits as part of a of a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education. What You'll Be Doing
- Design, configure, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot production Data center network infrastructure and associated services
- Contribute in architecture, planning and implementing initiatives related to networks, security and cloud.
- Configure, deploy and troubleshoot network switches, routers, and firewall solutions
- Create and maintain documentation of network designs, processes, and procedures
- Identify and solve problems related to overall infrastructure performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner
- Contribute in Network support ticketing and provide timely resolution for end user issues
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Adhere to change control policy requirements
Required Skills:
- 2 + years of experience working on current network technologies
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ACI.
- Proficient in network configuration management and automation tools (Python, Ansible, OpenStack)
- Cisco Network Certifications (CCNA/CCNP)
- Knowledge of switching fundamentals such as Ethernet, VLANs, and LACP.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and network fundamentals.
- Ability to analyze network packet captures
- Ability to work after hours to support projects and maintenance activities.
- Potential travel to support Data center projects.
- Well-versed with automation and scripting tools such as Python and Ansible
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Good verbal, written interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to migrate between tasks
Bonus Qualifications
- Possess solid knowledge of security best practices
- Experience troubleshooting networking in Linux (RHEL, CentOS or Ubuntu)
- Experience with working in a global team environment and solving problems independently.
- Master’s degrees in Network or Computer Engineering
