This is a Non-Civil Service position with the Chancery Court Clerk & Master’s Office. The position title is Motion Docket Management Clerk. The position is responsible for managing and creating weekly motion dockets for the Chancellors based on court filings. The position also has significant responsibilities for review of electronic case filing.
The mission of the Davidson County Chancery Court Clerk and Master’s Office is to provide professional, courteous, and efficient public service to all those with business in the Chancery Court. This office administers court records as directed by the Chancellors or required by law; sells real and personal property; and deposits and remits judgment funds pursuant to Court order and statute as an arm of the Court.

- Receives and processes all pleadings whether over the counter or electronically.
- Posts all motion pleadings to the case management system.
- Reviews all upcoming motions and responses for the motion docket.
- Creates the motion docket for Chancellor review before posting on the website.
- Answers phone calls and questions regarding upcoming motions.
- Other deputy clerk duties as assigned.

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
