About This Role:
The Mold Maker II, from part and/or mold prints constructs plastic injection molds. Is responsible and accountable for ensuring plastic injection molds and related equipment are manufactured and maintained to perform to Company standards. Responsible for CAM programming, set up, manufacturing, and build of new injection molding tooling, tool repair, electrodes, and fixtures.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
- Provides some conceptual layout of plastic injection molds.
- Designs and manufactures special jigs and fixture required for complete assigned mold project.
- Suggests possible improvements and/or alternate methods of achieving a solid design to mold design engineers.
- Constructs molds using tool room resources.
- Manages and Reports tooling progress as needed.
- Works on multiple tooling projects which would include high precision multi cavity tooling as required.
- Contacts outside vendors of the organization for specific information and services as required to meet schedules and budget.
- Performs Quality Control on own work and work received from others.
- Provides Coaching/Mentoring of General Machinist and Mold Maker I.
- Works on projects (such as EDM, CNC lathe, and Hard Die milling) as a team with tool room specialists.
- Maintains assigned equipment and work areas.
- Manages their time effectively to carry out multiple tasks at once and still meet the necessary deadlines and cost estimates.
Education/Training Required and Preferred:
- Two years of college and/or trade school that includes mechanical drafting, trigonometry, material properties, heat treating and machining methods.
- Experience with 4-Axis full simultaneous machining; sinker and wire EDM; Haas Lathe, DMG and ROKU-ROKU experience is preferred.
Experience Required and Preferred:
- Minimum of ten years of experience in plastic injection mold making or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years, CAD/CAM experience, such as Solidworks, Pro-E Creo, Master-Cam, Solid Modeling skills as required.

- Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable while fulfilling obligations.
- Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. The attention to detail required to manufacture complex multi cavity SPI 101 grade plastic injection molds.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to perform data entry, view electronic procedures, or pass training courses.
- Ability to control machines and processes, including either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
- Ability to perform quality control analysis, including conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Knowledge of and ability to use arithmetic. Must be able to accurately perform intermediate mathematical and statistical calculations and use a weight counting scale.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in use of CAD/CAM systems.
- The ability to perform root cause analysis on production mold repair issues.
- Preferred, Micro and Laser welding expertise.
- Preferred, Polishing expertise, ability to do SPI A2 and A3 finishes. (Bench work).
- Bilingual, English, and Spanish preferred.

The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $32.95 to $46.32
The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected hourly range for this job requisition.
