MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER – GRADES 6-8
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate middle school social studies teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching social studies to students in grades 6-8, and will be able to engage and motivate students through creative and innovative teaching methods. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing lesson plans, creating assessments, and evaluating student progress.
Responsibi l ities:
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with state and national standards for social studies
- Implement engaging and interactive teaching methods to motivate students to learn and participate in class
- Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to parents and guardians
- Create and grade assessments to measure student understanding of the material
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment
- Attend professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in social studies education
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social studies education or related field
- Teaching certification in social studies for grades 6-8
- Experience teaching social studies in a middle school setting
- Strong knowledge of state and national standards for social studies education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff
- Creativity and innovation in teaching methods
- The Board may employ a candidate with such alternative qualifications that the Board may find to be acceptable and appropriate.
