Our client is a industrial and chemical manufacturer in the Jeffersonville area of Indiana.

As a Polishing Technician you would fill an essential role on our team. The Polishing Technician is a full-time, non-exempt, entry-level position with an hourly wage beginning at $20.00/hr.

DUTIES:

• Handle and prepare parts for performing polishing operations with machine polishers and hand tools.
• Operate polishing equipment such as hand files, grinders, disks, rotary sanders, and abrasive wheels.
• Remove bumps or indentations in the metal parts without stretching or cutting through the finished piece with care to maintain contours, edges, and dimensions.
• Locate and gather materials and supplies needed, check material for correctness and quality.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to work in repetitive movements, requiring good dexterity and hand- eye coordination.
• Must be able to stand, and bend for 8 hours per day and lift at least 50 pounds within a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including Respirator when working.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Willing to work overtime.
• Previous work history with sheet metal required.
