Qualification
Works with the Buyer to create an assortment of products for sale in the company's stores. Liaison between the buyer, vendor community, and the field organization to provide support. Provides administrative support to the Merchandising Division.
1. Provides administrative support to the Merchandising Division including composing memos or emails, document preparation, filing and mail distribution. Operates printer, fax machine or copier.
2. Creates and prepares purchase orders for the Buyer. Ensures purchase orders are written correctly and completed for input into the system. Researches and resolves related POS problems.
3. Maintains open to buy files and tracks orders.
4. Locates, gathers and researches information. Prepares various presentations, reports, queries and other documents.
5. Schedules appointments and maintains and coordinates calendar for department management and associates including meetings, lunches, special events and conference calls. May also make travel arrangements.
6. Ensures quality pre-ticketing accuracy on daily incoming shipments.
7. Assists with merchandise and assortment planning, merchandise presentation, and plan-o-gram development.
8. Assists in the coordination of the ad process including ad planning and preparation, building and maintaining ad grid, tracking competitive ads, coordinates ad samples for photography, and assists buyer with building ad copy for advertising.
9. Coordinates attribute sheets, SKU integrity, and ad items updates.
10. Creates Electronic Package Request and assists with packaging development.
11. Understands & supports the financial metrics of the Buyer and may participate in vendor meetings and negotiations.
Qualification
1. High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree in a business related field preferred.
2. One to three years of retail experience preferred.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills required.
4. Strong analytical and methodical thinking skills required.
5. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and prior PC experience including word processing and email required.
6. Excellent customer service skills and ability to project a professional image required.
7. Ability to work under general supervision and make independent decisions within guidelines required.
8. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment required.
