Job Title – Psychology Associate / Mental Health Clinician

Job Type- Full time

Job Location - Nottoway Correctional Center , Nottoway , VA

Job Description:

Provides mental health services to offenders including crisis intervention, screening, psychological assessment and evaluation (psychological test administration, scoring, interpretation and report writing), psychoeducational services, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and release planning under the supervision and direction of the Psychologist/Psychology Associate Senior.

Screens, tracks and monitors offenders with mental health services needs in intake, general population, and special housing.

Involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of mental health services, policies and programs at the facility.

May be involved with special units or programs.

Serves as a consultant to Administration, Security, Treatment and Community Corrections staff.

Provides in-service training.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate degree in Psychology (clinical, counseling, clinical social work) or an equivalent degree in related human services field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced coursework in psychology is required.

Training and experience in the treatment of mental health disorders.

Relevant professional experience under supervision to include demonstrated skills in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviewing, intelligence and personality testing and interpretation and report writing.

Demonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans.

Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group counseling or therapy.

Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices.

Demonstrated ability to provide training.

Ability to communicate effectively in orally and in writing.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,125.00 - $77,175.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
