POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Advisor is responsible to promote the individuals’ recovery, provide support to program participants, promote program participant input, oversee safety, maintain the facility, equipment and supplies, participate in Agency activities and maintain documentation and transport and accompany program participants in a residential, treatment and/or a community support setting.
PT – day shifts available! Sat/Sun or Mon/Tue – 7am -3:30 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote the individuals’ recovery by implementing the treatment or rehabilitation plan.
- Provide support and consultation and initiate peer support among program participants.
- Promote program participant input in the development of program activities.
- Oversee the safety and well being of the program participants.
- Oversee and upkeep the maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Participate in activities as part of treatment team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees.
- Maintain documentation
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and Agency regulations and operating standards.
- Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency’s culture, values and mission.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Initial TB test required prior to first day of employment
- Basic Computer Skills (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word and Excel)
- This position has regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) or OMH (Office of Mental Health).
- Must possess ability to make decisions when circumstances warrant
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
